Bushman Paintings Gallery

Bushman paintings were discovered by Mahamba Wild club members on a recent expedition. Paintings are only 30 km from Piet Retief but access is very difficult. Location of paintings is given on our GPS ( Global Positioning System ) page. Our next trip to the paintings will be shown on our Calendar of events page. But here - the first pictures of bushman's paintings.

Cedarberg

We explored the unspoiled Cedarberg Wilderness area which provides some of the best hiking trails in South Africa. Our hike took us 4 days and we visited many of the Cedarberg magnificent natural rock formations, including Maltese Cross, Wolfberg Arch and Wolfberg Cracks. And we brought back with us a good supply of local wine from Cederberg wine farm.

Madlangaberg

This is beautiful and demanding two day hike right here near Piet Retief. We climbed Madlangamvulu mountain (2120 m above see level) and slept on top under the stars. There is not many trails you can follow so we were just aiming for the top. Took probably the most laborious way but enjoyed it anyway.
